Dr. Ron Fleck, President

Dr. Ron has a heart for people in need.  Traveling throughout the world in developing countries for Gospel Outreach he saw the medical needs of people in poor, remote areas. He realized that if those people knew just the basic principles of health - water, nutrition, cleanliness, and simple remedies, many lives could be saved and the quality of their lives could be vastly improved. After much prayer, the concept of Second Hope Ministries International was born.

Second Hope Ministries International (SHMI) has the goal of training individuals in countries around the world with the basic principles of health and healing. Those individuals then take the knowledge and materials they have received and return to the villages to train people how to live healthier lives.

SHMI has taken trips to various countries to train trainers in village healthcare. The ministry is currently supporting several individuals on a monthly basis who are working full-time in serving others. SHMI has held training sessions in the U.S. to prepare individuals for mission trips, and those interest in medical evangelism.

Team Members, Philippines

Several highly skilled and motivated volunteers are members of our team.  Several people are serving on the Vision Team providing free prescription eyeglasses in developing countries. Sometimes as many as 120 people a day receive eyeglasses and their lives are changed as the world of sight opens to them.

Other volunteers are involved in medical training in First Aid, Basic Life Support, Wilderness and Jungle Wound Suturing Classes, Hydrotherapy and Massage Therapy.
